Group Events & Community Manager
Primary Location: Tommy's Movietowne, Port of Spain
Employment type: Full-time, Permanent
Coverage: All three locations and approved external events
Schedule: Required night and weekend work with physical presence at events
About the Role
We are looking for a meticulous and commercially minded events professional to build and deliver a distinctive programme of events for Tommy's. The role will begin with the expanded MovieTowne location and grow to cover East Gates, Brentwood and selected events outside our restaurants.
This is a hands on role for someone who can translate approved concepts into well organised experiences, build genuine community relationships and deliver events that increase visits, sales and long term customer engagement.
Non negotiable requirements
· Strong event execution, budgeting, coordination and post event reporting abilities.
· A genuine interest in craft beer and enthusiasm for the Tommy's brand, or a clear willingness to immerse yourself and quickly develop that knowledge.
· A friendly and approachable manner, with the confidence to speak with customers, build relationships and learn what different communities enjoy.
· The ability and willingness to work nights and weekends and to be physically present from setup through execution for the events you manage. This is a core requirement of the role.
What you will be responsible for
· Develop and maintain a rolling 90 day events calendar with programming suited to the audience and positioning of each Tommy's location.
· Plan each event from concept through closeout, including objectives, budgets, run sheets, staffing, performers, suppliers, technical requirements, ticketing and contingency plans.
· Create a strong mix of recurring and special events, including live music, sports, comedy, cultural programming, beer experiences, games, family activities and seasonal celebrations.
· Build partnerships with performers, clubs, businesses, sporting and cultural groups, charities and other relevant communities.
· Translate concepts and recommendations from the creative agency and internal team into practical event plans, budgets, deadlines and clear responsibilities.
· Coordinate restaurant teams, marketing, ESAL, security and suppliers, and personally lead onsite delivery for key events.
· Build a practical understanding of Tommy's beers and brand so events and customer interactions reflect what makes the brewery distinctive.
· Coordinate event content requirements with ESAL and any photographers or videographers so appropriate photo, video and recap material is available. Content creation ability is not a core requirement of the role.
· Coordinate with the printery and other suppliers, order approved goods and décor on time, and maintain an organised inventory and storage system so event assets can be protected and reused.
· Use registrations, ticketing, reservations and onsite activations to grow Tommy's loyalty and passport programmes and capture attendee data with appropriate consent.
· Engage with customers before, during and after events to understand what they enjoy and use that feedback to refine future programming.
· Prepare timely post event reports covering attendance, sales, costs, guest feedback and operational performance, then recommend which events should be repeated, improved or discontinued.
What success looks like
· A credible forward calendar is maintained and event milestones are delivered on time.
· Events achieve agreed attendance, sales and profitability targets.
· Recurring programmes build traffic during targeted trading periods.
· Events run smoothly because the role holder is prepared, visible onsite and actively coordinating the team.
· Tommy's grows relevant community relationships, loyalty participation and consented customer data.
What we are looking for
· At least three years of relevant experience in events, hospitality, entertainment, community programming, experiential marketing or venue operations.
· A demonstrated ability to independently execute events involving multiple deadlines, budgets, suppliers and operating teams.
· Exceptional organisation, attention to detail and follow through.
· Strong negotiation, written communication and supplier management skills.
· Commercial awareness and the ability to connect programming decisions to attendance, sales, costs and repeat visits.
· Good judgement and calm problem solving under pressure during live events.
· A valid driver's permit and reliable transportation are preferred because the role supports multiple locations.
