When it comes to pub food, beer batter is a staple, and for good reason! As long as there is a beer in the house you can get a quick, flavourful and easy batter without any fancy ingredients. This classic batter is elevated with the citrus and tropical fruit notes of Pirogue Tropical Pils, and is great for deep frying fish and seafood, but also works well for chicken and veg.
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked if possible)
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 ½ cups Pirogue Pils
In a small mixing bowl add flour, egg, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir in 1 cup beer to start. Add more beer until the desired texture is reached.
